So i recieved my xps 1530, and then went to the dell drivers website and located the driver on the site for my model, and then dl'd it, and installed it, was this wrong? I mean, I hear you are supposed to first uninstall the existing driver before installing a new one, but does this apply if it my scenario?

If the M1530 has a fan control utility compatible with it you can tweak the fan settings to keep things cooler.

im using the 175.97, you can look in http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=278394 for many of the available drivers, although the one im using is working pretty well, it can be downloaded at dell.com in the m1330's section.

    cheers

Dont worry, you're fine. And stick with dell drivers.. also dont change it too often. Have one for quiet some time and see how it performs :) Good luck. As for now, 174.31 or 175.97 seem to be performing really well for M1530... Cheers.
