    Just got my new M1530. Some good things and bad things for you to know.

    Just picked up my M1530 today from DHL. Read "bad" section to find which accessories I got (hint: none).

    Good:
    ---No problems (yet) like many people report on these boards and others such as user opinions and CNET reviews. Everything is working fine so far but that can change very fast and very soon. I hope everything stays good though.
    ---Very minimal keyboard bulge...you can't even see it unless you're looking for it. (this is good because I was scared I would get a huge bulge)
    Reinstalled Vista and computer runs VERY fast. This is my first experience with Vista and I dunno what all the hype is about how it is so crappy. Seems fine to me.
    ---Everything else is perfect so far

    Bad:
    ---I'll keep this simple. Accessories:When I meant none, I MEANT NONE (except charger).
    >>>>>NO XPS SLEEVE (***!..Laptop came in trashy plastic bag), NO CD CASE, NO EARBUDS, NO SECOND REMOTE. At least I got one remote and a printed manual.
    ---I got the LED CMO... LCD. Seems fine, except a pixel got stuck a few minutes ago on green. I got pissed and stabbed the screen and it went away. I'll see if it comes back. Other than that, the screen is beautiful except TOO MUCH gap between brightest and second brightest setting.

    Wrist pad gets warm quick. Will help in the winter if my heater dies.

    They better give me mine with at least the XPS sleeve.
    I'd be pretty pissed if they hadn't after having to return my poorly manufactured notebook for something that works as it should. Total wait time for both notebooks will eclipse 2 months soon. Dell is slow.

    I just got mine on Friday last week ... and I did get the media remote and the XPS sleeve/case thing for the laptop. Didn't get any earbuds or cd cases though but I really don't care because I have tons of earbuds and cd cases. I am also happy with my purchase ... it plays the games I have very well on maxed out settings (bioshock, all the call of duties, star wars: eaw, half life 2 ... etc.). And mine came with no keyboard bulge or any other of the problems everyone else seems to have ... yay.

    man you guys are lucky (for those who have received theirs w/o problems). Ive been checking my order status 4-5 times daily to change from "in production". It BETTER come with the sleeve, earbuds, extra remote, and cd case. We pay for a premium laptop it better arrive like one. I hope my laptop comes soon....w/o gpu/keyboard/pixel problems...

    Well, from all the countless youtube videos and online discussions about the xps m1530. Many people mention "heres the extra media remote" So im saying that based upon what other people have literally said.

    I got my 1530 today and I didn't get all the accesroies. The only thing I got was the media remote and that's probably because it was actually listed in my order page. I also got the bug remote that comes with the tuner, so that may be what OP is talking about or heard about?

    Hey! Congrat's on your new 1530 ;) :) And, welcome to being part of the 1530 Posse!!!!

    Glad you like it thus far...Regarding the *included accessories*, give Dell a call tell them you only received the *remote* and were wondering why you didn't receive the *XPS sleeve* and the others, and ask will they be shipping it to you. ;) :) It may work..you never know..And, I'm just stunned that Dell isn't shipping these with the 1530's...they are part of the 1530 package..or they should be... :( ;) :)

    Hey congrat's on your new 1530, also..and welcome! ;) :) You may also want to call Dell..and just give it a try for the *other accessories* :)

    ****, Dell is getting pretty cheap on the XPS. Dell needs to stick to one gameplan. All these video reviews/older reviews showcase these extra accessories which can help the customer choose one laptop over another of equal quality. You get all these questions constantly... "Is my XPS supposed to come with earbuds? Where's my XPS cd case? etc." And now they are cheaping out and not even providing the XPS sleeve? Way to go, Dell!

    Now I may seem greedy for expecting these items, but you can see Dell's sly ways by not adding these extra accessories to the order invoice, making it even harder to get something our friends received for free. And what promotion? It's not even mentioned anywhere, yet they try to play it off as a promotion. Pfft.

    Anyway, enough with my rant. My XPS hasn't come yet so I shouldn't worry too much about it. But if it doesn't arrive with a sleeve, they'll be getting a pleasant call from me.

    I made a preemptive attack and emailed the salesman I worked with when I placed my order and said two of my friends ordered the same computer last month and got everything and then another friend ordered one two weeks ago and didn't get anything and they gave him a hard time about getting them because they said they weren't on his order and I asked him if he could make sure they were on mine and he also quoted me about a 5 day ship time even though the website said almost a month and it has been almost two weeks and still shows in production and asked what was going on and asked if he could upgrade my shipping to overnight. He replied to all this with I will look into that right away which I am assuming is BS so I will see what happens.

    i would rather have a 100% properly functioning laptop with no cosmetic defects instead of some bs accessories i'll never use.

    yeah mad people get two remotes. The second one usually comes inside the XPS cd case. So if you don't get the CD case I guess you don't get the remote.

    And, actually alot of people, do use those accessories... ;) :)

    My rep just emailed me back and this is what she said:

    I have set up a request for a Ear buds and CD case to be shipped to you. Once your order is completed, it will be shipped to you next day air to the address provided below: ***My Address Here***

    So $25 for a cloth seems good. I emailed her back asking how they're going to credit me back 25 bucks. If its to the Credit Card then my dad is gonna keep the money. If its to a gift card than I can use it :).

    I emailed her back asking about the XPS sleeve but I guess I shouldn't have cause I checked my account and I have two new orders there.

    1) Targus 15.4in Slipskin Laptop Case - Laptop carrying case $0.00
    Status is shipped and it says it should be here tomorrow (DHL thou =/)

    2) Kit,Earphone,Buds,Extreme Performance System
    Status is in production with an ESD as 8/27 and EDD of 8/28

    My Rep rocks! I dont know what everyone else is complaining about. :)

    WOW, nice job! looks like you got a good rep. Some of the ones ive talked to were too pushy, wanting to get a sale done. (i just didnt buy and tried getting another rep) I hope when my laptop arrives it comes with everything! i have no idea how long its been in the "boxing" stage but as of today its 2 days. *Crosses fingers* i move back to my dorm on Sat afternoon so hopefully by friday!!!!

    Thanks and good luck. And yea seems like a got a nice rep. I suggest emailed Dell instead of calling. You don't get instant results but they always reply withing 24 hours and I think its harder to deny you when you ask politely online

    I've called before when I tried to get that free flip camera thing a couple of days after ordering and they told me I had to cancel and reorder, but I didn't feel like it and I already expected that answer. Next time I called to cancel my order cause I found a better deal I got transferred around a few times but they were able to cancel without a hitch. I guess I've gotten good reps on the phone, or
    maybe it was because I didn't really demand or fight with them on the phone.

    Although I think one time when I talk to the canceling guy he was messing around with a voice changer or something. His voice sounded really deep and low volume and then he asked me I could hear him, to which I replied that he sounded low. He must have done something cause the next second his voice got higher/normal and better sounding. It could have just been speaker phone or something but it really sounded low and deep.
