    Just got my M1530

    I just got it @ 3:45. Overall i'm impressed. No gaps, cpu noise or touchpad problems. The only negative is that I got the Samsung 1680 x 1050 SEC3350. : ( I think is might be one of the worst ones too. All white areas have dark purple splotches (grain?), and there is a slight yellowed hue, and there is light bleed on the top and bottom.

    Is your fan on constantly? I just got my xps 1530 and the fan seems to be on all the time and all Im doing is surfing the net! Its not very loud but is noticeable..I have the same configuration as you btw..did you enable hdd silencing in the bios?

    to the OP, go ahead and call Dell. It seems they have discontinued the Samsung WSXGA+ screen. They will arrange for a tech to replace it with an LG type.

    The will actually build and new replacement and ship that to you. Call customer service, and tell them you want a replacement.
