I just installed windows XP x64 (on my m1530) using the guide presented in this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=240623

Unfortunately, the service pack 2 for XP x64 will not load. In the middle of installation I get a message saying:

"Service Pack 2 Setup Error: The system cannot find the file specified"

It doesn't tell me which file it is.

Please let me know what I can do. I need to install this ASAP.

Have you tried running the standalone service pack installer?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that.

Are you installing this from Windows Update or you can download these individually (standalone).

Im installing from window's update. Something probably screwed up when I was initially intalled XP x64 because I downloaded an ISO of the update, burnt it, and tried to install it and I got the same exact message.

I did skip a few files that couldn't be found while x64 was installing, but im not sure if that is whats causing the problem.

XP Pro x64's latest service pack is SP2, correct? Service Pack 3 only came out for the x86 architectures?
