XPS 15 Laptop (2 days old), I've tried 3 different USB mouses on all three USB ports and got the same results...the cursor is jittery and I can not adjust or rectify via mouse settings or software updates! No splats in Device manager and all drivers appear up to date.

XPS 15, i7-2820Q, Win-7 Ultimate 64 bit and 8gb ram, NVIDIA with 2gb ram and Optimus. 2 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 ports. All react the same with three different mouses. Tech support could not fix so they are replacing the laptop.

*After told by tech support to re-install the OS, all was good until I started installing MS updates to get the OS up to date. Within 4 updates, the mouse started getting jittery and thats when they decided to replace the PC. Never seen this before with a new system!

Any ideas how to fix if it happens with the replacement laptop when it arrives?

Just one question: any of those mice were wireless? I'm asking this because some wireless mice have similar issues with wireless routers in range.

Just a stupid question: are you using the mouse on a surface it will track correctly on (like a mousepad)? I ask because the wireless notebook mouse I had tracked terribly on my couch, but fine on a desk or mousepad. I got a new mouse this weekend that does a lot better on the couch, but still not perfect. Usable at least, unlike the other one where I move the mouse 2 feet and the cursor moved 1"...lol.

Mouse is plugged in via USB...

I also use a mouse pad, just never seen anything like this before...

I've also tried three different mouses and used all three USB ports and got the same results each time.

Got the replacement laptop and the same problem still exists...unbelieveable!

    Stumped beyond belief!

Tech suppport is also scratching thier heads. Had friend tell me the same problem happened to him and they switched to 64 bit mice and the peoblem was resolved...tried the same with a new mouse and still the same. Guys at BestBuy ad Micro center never heard a of a "64 bit mouse" so I'm trying to get a P/N of the mouse he has to see what he actually has.

    Anyhow, the sagga continues...

64-bit mouse? LOLOLOL. Perhaps your friend meant drivers, but you aren't going to find such a mouse anywhere.
