    Hey guys

So i bought this M1730 about 6 months ago and i seem to be having some problems with it. Everytime i try to open something, be it internet explorer, firefox, my documents etc, the laptop freezes and then eventually just doesnt load what i wanted opened.

I cant do anything on it anymore, anyone know a possible reason? Do i have a virus or something? I am using AVG 8.5 for virus protection and i really dont know why its acting up.

    Thanks for any help
    Tudor

thanks, thats most likely what i will do lol, just wanted to see if there is some other fix.

i think i should add that i tried opening photoshop cs4 about 20 minutes ago and it finally opened now. so it took 20 minutes to open, i really have no clue why this is happening? i will most likely do a fresh install of Vista but any reason could be helpful just so this doesn't happen again lol.

    thanks again

lol yeah but in all honesty i have none of those on my laptop, i don't really use it for surfing the web, mostly just use it for photosop, illustrator, indesign etc for my graphics design and 3d modeling courses, since my home pc is quite a piece i cant run most of that software haha.

okay so i am just installing a fresh copy of Vista but its been at the window that says "Please wait while Windows sets up your computer..." for like 15 minutes now, i dont know what to do. Is it okay for it to take this long? I have done this before but not with Vista so i dont know how long it should take.

    What should I do?

    Thanks again

Vista tends to be quite a slow OS. If this is the start of the OS bootup, whenever it has a full screen shiny vista thing, and 'Please wait...' in the middle of the screen, yes it's perfectly normal. When I first got my older laptop, a toshiba, it took like 30 minutes to finish. I thought the computer was broken before I got it =-( Just leave it be hehe.
