Well for $1074.99 you can get the following from Dell before any coupons you may have. This is pretty much what I got except I got the bluetooth for the additional $20. This is from Dell Canada I would think the USA would be the same or less.

    i7-2670
    8gb ram
    2gb nvidia gt 540m
    750gb hdd
    FHD B+RGLED 1920x1080 dispaly
    backlit keyboard

Wow I just went on the USA site and it looks to me like the Canadian site has better deals unless you have some pretty good coupons. In my opinion the B+RGLED screen is a must as well is the backlit keyboard. If you were going to use the computer for gaming the 540m is better, but I have heard that you can over clock the 525m to the same clock speeds.

Looks to me the cpu is the biggest difference in the price. So you must ask yourself will I use cpu intensive app that requires 4 cores or 2 cores are all that I need for my work? Also if you ever planning on selling the laptop somewhere down the road, the quad would be much more of value than the dual core.

Then again, Ivy Bridge is right around the corner...
