    Thanks everyone.

I had to do some serious negotiation to get the price down to that. I so should have been on the apprentice :D.

I hope it lives up to the hype.

How do you negotiate with them?
I assume by calling in and ordering?

I SO want an M1530, but is it foolish to buy right now, since Montevino is so close around the corner?

i don't NEED Montevino, but then again, I am NOT in a hurry to purchase, either. I want something for home, small-time gaming, so the 8600M GT is fine.

I considered the Gateway special at Best Buy, but 17" lappies are jus tnot me...I want a nice 15", which the 1530 appears to be...

Do you guys see Montevino being integrated into the M1530 any time soon?

    Apologies for the thread-jacking, chunkysaj!

I called them up and used many well recognised negotiating techniques. They are quite willing to adjust the price, throw in free/cheap upgrades, in order to make the sale. I said I was torn between this and the Acer 5920G. I also said I had a strict budget of £450, but I really preffered the look of the XPS even though it had lower spec and I was willing to go for it if he gave me a good deal. So he gave me 10% off and upgraded the ram (from 1 GB) and the hard drive (from 120GB) and threw in a carry case, which was nice.

    EDIT: £455.07 = $898.99 (current rate is £1:$1.98)

Don't worry about the thread-jacking. Don't think i can help you though, my knowledge on notebooks is limited at best.
