Just called Dell they said they have a special in which they fix it for $400.00 total shipping and handling and so forth. ( I broke the screen)

I want to ask you guys is it worth it.

I have the 2.1, blueray, 4 gig dd2 1280x800 which is 500 gig hard drive in it. I bought it last year refurbished for 700 bucks and it runs good.

Is it worth it? Or should I try to do it myself or just get a new laptop?

I'm cheap and I don't really watch specs, I'm mostly trying to find a good job and go back to school

    What do you think?

Well that is completely up to you. Do you think the laptop is worth it? If so then fix it. What is your budget for a new laptop? If its $400 then fix what you have.

$400 to fix it. If you think that you want to put that much into replacing the screen & the lappy & GPU will be reliable down the road per se. I understand your situation.

Or, you can put that money towards a newer lappy now. Sometimes you can find good deals w/a warranty. Consider the Outlet when coupon codes are availi, which is fairly often.

Do they warranty that screen when they replace it at all? That is something else I would consider. : )

    3 month warranty

I won't do it, it's too much, gonna try to fix it myself instead.

Yes, I think that is way too much money & your making a very good decision not to go with Dell on this. You can prolly do it yourself.

There is a helfpul thread around here. Let me grab it for you :)
    Guide: Replace Your 1530 Screen

Edit: I see you already found it!!! ;)
