I have a really old Inspiron XPS Gen 2 notebook that recently crapped out on me. The notebook won't start up and it has been concluded to be an electrical issue. I can't get the notebook worked on as my Dell warranty expired just a few months ago and all other places want to charge me $500 or more to repair it. I might as well just go get a new notebook as Best Buy has some great deals on HPs and Toshibas. Sorry but I refuse to purchase a Dell now after this.

Anyway, I have the Samsung 80GB HD that was in the notebook. It is model MP0804H but I am not sure what type of interface it uses. I need to find an enclosure for it so I can copy the data off of it. I have looked all over the hard drive and haven't found any information regarding the connection (either IDE or SATA). I did read through the manual and it says that the hard drive has an SATA connection. My only problem is that the hard drive pictured is not the one I have and other sites are saying that it is a IDE connection. Here is the link to the website for the hard drive.

Any help is appreciated as I am at a loss here. I tried calling Newegg for support on a product to purchase but the representative from India had no idea what I was talking about.

Thank you for the reply. I will now look for a PATA enclosure.
