Hey, I'm looking to pick up a used 1645 on ebay. The seller claims it has a RGBLED display, but when I got the service tag from him and looked it up, it gave me this:

1CJ45 Assembly, Liquid Crystal Display, 16FHD, Low Cost, 1645/1647

What's the Low Cost part all about? Also, I had him look up the hardware ID of the LCD and it gave him MS_0000, so I can't use that way of identifying the panel :( How else can I confirm that he has a RGBLED panel?

    Thanks :D

If it says 16FHD, then it's the RGBLED, as the WLED is only 15.6". I would be better if you had the actual hardware ID though to confirm. If he's saying that Device Manager is reporting MS_0000 then he's doing something wrong.

Bah ok, I guess there's always paypal dispute if it arrives and it's not an RGBLED display :p

His auction page claims RGBLED all over the place so I think I'd have a pretty solid case against him.

    Thanks for the help :D

You can easily tell by seeing a photo of the laptop screen. The 16" RGBLED butts up against the silver hinges. The smaller 15.6" WLED screen has a gap on each side.

A quick Google search of 1CJ45 shows it is the WLED screen...not RGBLED.

I'm using a RGBLED 1645 right now (it's because of the screen I can't seem to talk myself into upgrading to a new XPS 15 or 17!) and can confirm that the panel butts up against the silver hinges.

Did you confirm this was an RGB screen? I am looking to replace my screen with one that has this part number.
