    ok so my GPU is idling at 67C...which is way to hot...and i dont hear the fans going and i dot wanna return it to dell...is i8kfangui a good idea? and does any1 have a link to a proven virus-free DL?

    and if i dont like it can i easily delete it and all settings wil be returned to normal?

    if you download i8kfangui from the author's website it'll be safe.

    It only takes control when it is activated. Anyways, 67 C should be fine.

    67c is a bit high for idling, its usually under 60C. Also, how did you measure your temperature, as in what software did you use.

    ntune dog

    it wont let me control the fans in ntune for ome reason...the option is grayed out

    Is it overclocked? if that is the case 67C should be fine.

    Is your laptop also running slow? Check in resource monitor (go to task manager) if the CPU blue line (% maximum frequency) is flatlined at something low like 39%. Mine was and I needed to get the fan replaced yesterday. Dell came out to do this no fuss.

    If you have the Dell drivers disk handy pop this in and hit F12 to boot from CD. Hit 1 a couple of times till you get to Dell diagnostics and go to the test for individual components and select CPU fan. Run the test and you will know if the fan is good.
