    XPS M1530 (Tuxedo Black)

    CPU: C2D T9300 (2.5GHZ)
    RAM: 4GB, DDR2, 667MHZ
VGA: 256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600M GT
    LCD: 15.4 BLACK WXGA+
    HDD: 250G HDD, 7200RPM
    OS: Vista Ultimate 32 bit
    Battery: 56WHR 6-Cell
    ODD: 8X DVD+/-RW SLOT DRV

No software addendum at additional costs

No coupon codes because I wasn't able to find any for Dell Canada..

    Total price of $1,680.00 ( + 14% TAX) = $1,898.40

Looking at other people's posts with their 15%/25% coupons applied make me angry...

    Am I ripped?

Seems right for Dell Canada. They don't offer coupons very often. Last time I saw a XPS coupon was in late March when I ordered mine.

The other posters are in the US, Dell offers coupons there all the time. Larger market base than Canada.

You got a great system Be happy and enjoy it.

Seems normal. If you got the 9-cell in there, I would say that is the perfect price.

    LED screen or LCD?

If it's LED, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

That's normal for Dell Canada. Don't let other people's prices discourage you, Dell doesn't care about any country other than the US so be prepared to get screwed. Though you would think that Dell would love Canada seeing as though they make way more money on a sale in Canada than the US since the computers are made in the same factory, the dollars are equal with each other, and yet there is a 25% markup on buying it in Canada . You would think they would occasionally throw Canada a bone, even one decent coupon once in a blue moon, but that just doesn't happen.

Not only are the deals worse, but they don't even let you customize the computer the way you want. Everything is pretty forced upon you by Dell and there is nothing you can do about it. Ugh, as you can see I get frustrated by this, but I'm done for now.

The regular LCD screen has a CCFL back light, and the LED has a...well LED back light (they are both technically an LCD screen, we're just talking about what is lighting the LCD). The LED is going to be brighter, weigh less, and be more power efficient. From what I've seen it also looks crisper and has better colour contrasts.

The "Certified Refurbished" M1530 I received yesterday appears to be the same (except color) and I paid just over $1400 with "Next Day Business" shipping.

Unfortunately, they forgot to include the power cord and Dell Cust Serv said they would ship it out by next Friday. However, the reason I bought the laptop was to use it during my month long vacation which I leave for next Sunday. :( Am going to have to find/borrow a power cord from someone just to verify everything is good with the laptop before I leave.
