    All,

I have an xps 1640 and have it perfectly configured with all the software i need etc but I have bought an xps 1647 and want to remove the drive from the 1640 to the 1647 ---- will this work? then I can just give the 1640 to my daughter with the drive from the 1647 i have just purchased.

I am aware the mboard in the 1640 and 1647 are different but was hoping it would still work if i swapped the drives around.
    Regards,

    B.

I know with Windows XP hardware mismatch it dosent like, but with Windows 7 you should be fine.
