    and less heat generated too?

will they be faster than the old ones? comparing 2 cpus with the same clock speed.

They are slightly faster clock for clock. Note that the T7xxx series is more than sufficient for most uses.

The M1530 should be available with the penryn's within days or weeks.. They just updated the M1730 with them.. So you shouldnt have to wait too long.. Its probably worth it.. You should get a slight performance increase.. battery life increase.. An less heat.. So i say wait.. Or go with a Penryn computer..

Not entirely true. The 2.4 Duo Penryn has a cache of 3 mb and the T7700 (Not Penryn) has a cache of 4 mb. Take a look at all the specs: http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/chart/core2duo.htm

The differences really are minimal and it really would not make that big of a difference. Unless you are constantly going to be pushing your notebook to its limits, IMO it's not worth it. Especially since there is a 600 dollar sale on m1530's right now that could go away when they add Penryn processors.

The difference will be small but you might as well wait because they'll probably be added within a few weeks.

^^ how'd you get that extra 26% off?

Boeing employee discount. it is usually 16% but they added an additional 10% until march 14th.

the thing is i dont think i will get this good of a deal when the new processors come out. should i just get this one and just not have it or wait and maybe not get as good a deal?

That's a pretty good deal, I would jump on it. Although I have to question the beefy warranty, don't think it's worth it. I would go with a two year warranty... you can always extend it later.

I'd get it. That's basically the same exact configuration I have on my m1530, except you have an extra gig of ram. Which is a waste unless you plan on installing Vista 64 bit, just so you know.

So yeah, I'd get it! Mine's really fast and you probably would lose a lot of that sale when they add Penryn. I'd get it.

Even with Penryn I seriously doubt you would be able to tell the difference between an m1530 with Penryn and an m1530 without Penryn.

True, but it's cheaper to just the get the 4 year now. I'd get the 4 year, that's what I did. And you never know when your laptop is going to break. My brother's sony (kinda irrelevant) notebook broke in it's fourth year of usage, a motherboard failure.

for the warrenty, the system only offers a 3 and 4 year, and the price difference is $80 bucks but i get a $70 dell gift card so the way i see it its only $10 bucks more.

does it come with 32 or 64 bit vista?

I don't think so. You'd have to buy the upgrade disc separate.
