I just read an article and it's made me even more disappointed in Vista then i already was in it. I'm receiving my XPS 16 next week and after reading an article pointing out it's graphical bugs, crashing issues it's made me wonder if i should put XP on there (duel boot it)? So i was wondering your experiences with it and if i should put XP on as a well?

Vista runs great, why wouldn't it? Vista is a very stable operating system.

well i was reading some articles saying how much slower it was than xp and that firefox crashed every hour or so, and a few more did too. But since this is a Dell, and it comes with vista, i'd assume it'd have no driver issues or anything relative to that.

I'd say that this laptop convinced me that Vista wasn't the utter waste that I thought it was and was actually a very good OS.

same here, i never used vista before this computer. i stayed away from it like the plague. i cant believe how nice it runs (with uac disabled of course). it might be because the first service pack is already out, or maybe its because the inital problems have been addressed. either way im not looking back to xp, im definitely looking forward to windows 7.

that aside, if i did have a problem with vista id look to ubuntu. xp is just so old and ugly, and no amount of themes or skinning can help that.

funny you mention the skinning, i just skinned my xp to look like Vista because i was bored with the "cartoony" xp look. I also duel boot with ubuntu, i probably will when i get my XPS 16 too
