Some of you guys must have the same problem, Here in Australia the Internet really suck !!! So I'm in this kind of plans that allow you to download 15 gigs on peak time and 30 off pick. (2 am. to 12 pm.) So Please somebody !!!! knows how to make my XPS 1530 download in the off peak time automatically, I can't do it by myself because I have to work hard and buy more games and gadgets for my beauty laptop he he he. By the way my os is Vista home Premium and the program is limewire.

    Thanks :D

What you could do is leave your computer on and then have it run a scheduled task at 2AM which launches the Limewire program. Then have another scheduled program at 12PM that runs the shutdown command to turn off your computer. You could also look at uTorrent which has a scheduler, but I am not sure if torrents would fit your needs.

Your other option is to use a bandwidth shaper. there is a handy program called netlimiter that you can use to limit the speed of any program.

you can set a schedule so the limit is removed for the offpeak hours.

This way you can leave limewire running all the time, que downloads and just leave it to itself to download at full speed off peak.

Having said that, jlawsonxx is right, limewire is as good as an automated virus installer.

uTorrent has a built in bandwidth scheduler and torrents are generally much safer.

Here is a simple way dude:

Go to the bios.........there is an "Auto On" function

have limewire or whatever you want to download to automatically turn on with the computer

then setup your virus scan----AVG 8 (free edition) does this-------to run at a scheduled time (it will take 1/2 an hour to an hour to finish) and in the advance options click the box that says shutdown after scan

And your DONE she will turn on....scan....and turn off and in the mean time between the scan you download everything you want.

I have my office computers to do this so I KNOW it works :)
