I guess he wants to know how many of us have replaced our m1330 because of heat issues in the 8400GS card, and if the replacement stills hot.

I was going to get the 1330 instead of the 1530 however they wouldn't allow the better graphics card with the better battery so I choose not to buy it. I really wanted the alpine white T_T

I have the 1330 and love it. It runs cool and no problems, except for
    the vibration.

    Mine also runs amazingly cool!

I have an external monitor, so I usually run my m1330 with the lid closed.

Whenever I'm doing something that I figure would be pretty taxing to the processor, such as playing Team Fortress 2, or ripping a DVD, I'll open the lid to see if it's gotten hot, and it almost never gets more then slightly warm!

Came from an HP with integrated graphics card, and it would get pretty hot!

can't understand why some other people's m1330 gets so hot. Guess there are other factors.

Mine is Alpine White, runs cool with 8400GS, no games and no vibration. I have the T5550 cpu, i.e. 1.83 GHz.

My brothers 1330 runs very hot. He had to get a cooling pad and lower some settings

My new M1330 seems to run reasonably cool. I haven't tried to game on it yet but I never hear the fan come on. I'm not going to worry about the temps much, I have the 4 year complete care warranty with accidental damage, so if it breaks, Dell can fix it or replace it.

The fan kicks up a notch when the GPU goes over 70 Celcius, and the faster again when it goes over 80 Celcius. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though I played Final Fantasy XI all last night and it never reached 80 Celcius (I know cause the fan never sped up into second speed), though it occasionally does when playing the original Unreal Tournament (with the new HD textures) and the Devil May Cry 4 demo.

Be sure to use the 'Dell Recommended' power settings, rather than Max Performance. The difference is that the 'Dell Recommended' setting will downclock when it gets too hot to protect the CPU/GPU, whereas High Performance will not. The safety downclock threshhold must be above 90 Celcius though, because it's never actually kicked in for me yet. The drawback of the Dell Recommended setting is that it seems to downclock on battery.

You can download the Dell power preset from the Dell driver page.
