Its a powerhouse, lets just say, you can't throw any game at it which will bottleneck it.
You will need a good bunch of VMs to harness all its power.

This processor is excellent - I usually keep it scaled back (turbo boost off) to keep heat down and battery life up. I know from an engineering curriculum that it will chew up and spit out anything you throw at it.

Its complete bull, mine never ever overheats, even when gaming. Yes it will get warm (not hot) above the vent and blow hot air, but thats the purpose of the cooling.
I had a Inspiron 1520 before and this notebook has an even better cooling than that...

What alinad says is complete bull. The cooling is very good on this machine from my experiences and it is a very powerful processor.

    It's on bar with FX-8120 , X6-1100T and slightly slower than i7 920.

It usually is. Either bull or complete nonsense, or just so tangential that it makes no sense whatsoever.

I haven't noticed any cooling issues with my L502x. I haven't run any games, but am often playing lossless music files while converting music to other formats and running multiple other applications. The fan seems better behaved than my 7-year-old much less powerful Inspiron.

Had mine about a week and have had no issues with it getting even slightly warm. I am not a gamer, but do watch a lot of HD video while converting avi's to MP4's and what not and never once has it gotten alarmingly warm. My old inspiron I had speedfan running all the time because if I didn't keep an eye on it, it would overheat on me. I haven't even considered downloading it for the shear fact that im not worried about it at all.
