So the day before purchasing my SXPS 16, I decided to take a look in Dell's business laptops section and BAM, found the M4500.

Just wondering if anyone could advise me on what I should go with.

Thinking of choosing the M4500 because of the apparent 7 hours 40 mins battery life, while still being around 6 pounds. Also seems like a better graphics card.

Also because I don't like the over-heating issues I'm hearing about the SXPS 16.

Anyway here's the 2 configurations I'm looking at:

    Dell Studio XPS 16: €1,397.89

    Dell Precision M4500: €1,769.00

If I bring the GPU on the Precision back to a 35W the total cost is down to about €1,600.

What does everyone think? The only appealing thing about the SXPS 16 now seems to be the RGBLED, which is apparantly availabe on the M4500, I just haven't found it yet!

    Thanks a lot everyone! :)

I would probably go with the precision myself... I don't have any real supporting proof but overall I think the xps just has issue up the yin-yang...

Pretty much everyone in our office that isn't an apple fanboy has a precision, and they look quite nice.

i would go with xps. i dont think precisions worth it. besides the business notebooks are all overly priced. but if you need this for a formal environment, precision can be a good idea as well. in my opinion, xps 16 is more stylish as well
