    How does 8600 GT GDDR3 compare with 7900 GS

    I know that DX10 compatibility aside, the 7900 GS is a fair amount faster than the GDDR2 version of the 8600 GT.

    How then, does the GDDR3 version of the 8600 GT compare to the 7900 GS in terms of raw bandwidth and data rate?

    I think the 7900 has better power efficiency too; correct me if I'm mistaken.

    Sadly, I just assumed the 8600 was superior when it came out. If I had known, I would have stuck with my Inspiron E1705 and its LG screen and faster card instead of "upgrading" to the 1520 with the Samsung.
