 I have the same issue that another reader here has. My audio device has been eaten by a virus and is simply missing. I was without virus protection for about 8 hrs while waiting for dialup while visiting in the country....and I did get a notification that a virus had destroyed my sound device. I was able to download the driver from Dell online, but there just isn't a sound device for it to work with.
I am not great at this kind of thing, but does anyone know if I have to take it to a pro to re-install a sound card (?) or can it be done online? The driver is just waiting (sound blaster) to work, but has nothing to work with. I do not want to ship it to Dell...what a hassle.
Help!! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

 And to those of you who get kicks out of installing viruses on people's machines: if you launched a real job doing something GOOD then you would be extremely successful. What possible pleasure can you get from this? Your maliciousness is just puzzling, while so sad.
