I have an SSD as my main drive now but it's only 120GB, I'd like to use the Scorpio Black for storage and something like a Passport for backup, so that's 3 drives total. What do you think is the best config?

Right now I'm thinking of attaching the two HDDs to the back of the screen with velcro, but my concern is if there's an enclosure out there that can exploit the Black's full speed, and if velcro can keep a 7200rpm steady. Also would it be easy to clean the residue years later?

Any enclosure that uses ESATA as the interface will be as fast as if the drive was in the system. USB is crap for HDD interfacing, aside from maybe USB 3. USB 2 caps at like 35MB/s in real life...

Good velcro that won't fall off will likely be a pain to remove. Makes sense when you think about it I guess, lol.

how often do you use your optical drive? Consider using a DVD caddy for the scorpio black. Get a small WD passport 1TB that uses USB 3 and keep it in your laptop bag. Really need more than that?

^ Yeah I considered that. I do see plenty of cheap 12.7mm caddies on ebay but who knows which one fits, I can't find any recommendations under $20... I'm also concerned about needing the disc drive later on, because when I travel I won't be taking it with me
