Hello, fellas. I'm a little frustrated about my situation. Here is what happened:

I've ordered and LCD - LP156WF1 LAPTOP LCD SCREEN FOR B156HW01 V.4 from ebay (browngranite) and currently there are 3 other resellers that offer exact same screens.

First, i thought its AUO B156HW01 V.4, but when i received it today (its glossy) I found a sticker wich says LG display  Like how can it be LG if it also says B156HW01 V.4. I left it sealed for now and didn't open.

The thing is that i might not payed attention to LP156WF1 and 3 weeks for international delivery passed so i can't claim for money back and the only chance to get them is to write to Paypal. But i don't know how exactly to ask for a replacement/money back, this is the first time i deal with ebay and through my body's account

I mean, if anybody got the exact same glossy LG screen and it's nice i'll use it, but if its gross - any help in get it returned will be appreciated. Thanks

Been there and done that with my L501x. You got a replacement screen of course. The only place I know of that sells the actual AUO B156HW01 screens is twscreen.com. Email [email protected] if you want a quote on the real original dell FHD screen (V.7) or matte (V.4) if they have it.

As far as getting your money back, you can try, but my LG LP156WF1 screen is in my storage shed for a reason. Couldn't return it. I do like having an extra 1920x1080 screen handy though in case of a mishap. The LG screen is not a bad screen. I liked it. But the AUO screen is noticeably better.

Also, remember the ribbon cables are not the same between the 720p and 1080p screens, just in case ya didn't know that. You can order it from dell parts for like $13 here in the USA.

these sellers are getting very liberal with the descriptions, in order to dupe the customer. Its just not ebay. The gamut is 60% on the LP156WF1 which is about as good as you can get on screens out right now, but its still far from the 95% you wanted. LCD Panels for Laptops

I ordered a B156HW01 v4 from laptopscreen.com, and they even state "Our company distributes genuine B156HW01 V.4 laptop screens of the unsurpassed quality." My eyes were drawn to that and not all the text saying compatible screen. they let me refuse shipment and return it for a refund, but didn't include the $20 it cost to ship it.

If it were me, I would keep it and wait until you can find a v4 matte or if someone upgrades their product line with a superior screen. It seems most places won't return shipping fees, so with that in mind the cost of the panel is lower than trying to replace it with another compatible one.

If you don't care about glossy, you can buy the v.7 from this guy. Its the same one Dell uses and has 95%+ gamut range. Looks like $160 including shipping. You can confirm it is genuine by enlarging the image.

AUO 15.6" B156HW01 V.7 HD Laptop LCD Panel Screen New

I am sitting on a glossy v.4, I'm going to use this until I can find a suitable replacement.

good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Thanks for the comments. My dell fullhd cable should arrive shortly from Kuzotronic, but i'm in debates wheather to leave it or write a claim to Paypal. Are there any specs on LG LP156WF1 glossy screen besides 60% gamut?

My main concern is how it is different from regular LP156WF1 sold on ebay while it's mentioned B156HW01 v4 in the title? Not all the sellers mention this, may be the screen is different?

Yep. And if I were you, I would install it and see if you like it. It looks 10x better than the factory 720p screen not including the extra resolution. You may just end up liking it enough to keep it and not worry about getting the V.4. As far as it being glossy, it's not near as bad as the AUO FHD B+RGLED screen.

Well... that's true, i hate the standard screen enough to like the regular fullhd, even LG one) I'll wait for my ribbon cable to arrive shortly and have it installed. The best way is to check it out :D Thanks for the input, guys +rep!

    Hi guys!

    Ellis here from LaptopScreen.com,

First things first, anybody who wanted the B156HW01 V.4 by AUO and received an LG screen, and is NOT happy about that, is welcome to arrange a return, by PMing me.

We are a replacement supplier - meaning we will list all compatible LCD models, and substitute them with our real stock of tested and working panels.

The LG screens (LP156WF1-TLB1, LP156WF1-TLB2, LP156WF1-TLF3) we send in-place of the B156HW01 V.4 are comparable in brightness (300nits) and contrast ratio (500:1/600:1)
As well the configuration of the diffusers, which create a horrid back-light bleed on the 768p AUO,
are much MUCH better on the LG panels.
    LG Display LP156WF1-TLF3 Overview - Panelook.com

The AUO does indeed have a better Gamut, which is 95% of AdobeRGB1998. LG screens are 60%.
The practical differences are debatable, and I don't want to cause any flame wars,
but I want you guys to be clear on these numbers -
the colorimeter will notice it, but will you?
If you are not in gfx design, is the matter of 60% vs 95% a matter of e-peen?
    (And don't get me wrong, I run an i7 920 D0 @ 4.29GHz @ 1.25vcore)

B156HW01 V.4 is expensive, and we would not be able to offer it at $69.99

Please note, for all future purchases from us, you are welcome to specify "exact screen model required" in the order notes, or confirm physical inventory with me (through PM).

Again, 95% of our clients want a working replacement, and we do not yet specifically cater to the upgrade market - although we want to, and thus we are scouring these forums.

    Regards,

    Ellis
