Hey. First Thread. Google my problem and this was the best one. Great Forum.

So here is the run down. I just bought a dell xps 1530 with the 1200-800 res on December 19. Now just yesterday I belive they put the new revs up for better screens. I got an excellent deal total after everythink $1350(not bragging but i dont think i well get this deal if i go thru the process of returning and getting a new order..to exchange). 2.4Ghz,3Gbram, 160GB@7200,256 video card

The problem is I just called them and they said I cant modifiy it anymore becasue it is Ship! Those words have never sounded so bad in my life before. It said on the site Jan. 9th ship date. And its coming like Monday most likely. Was not expecting it all.

So, I called. Some Oversea lady picked up and said, I cant even change it once I have it. I have to return it and get order a new one.

Any Suggestions to get my screen to the 1680x1050 display?

*Edit* Didnt relize how active this forum was. The deal Im worryed about is the extra $200 i got off before the 20th. If i do the whole return thing it will come to an extra 317

You *might* be able to get a replacment screen sent to you and have a tech replace it. This is def. 100% possible - but I don't know if they're willing to do it. Ask them - push them - etc. Tell them you'll pay the $50 extra. Or you can just break your screen and tell them to replace it with a high rez version!

This will not work, no matter how much you beg, whine, plead or yell. Once your order is shipped, the only way to change it is to return it and re-order.
