Hey, I've recently upgraded my XPS M1730 to Vista and upon doing so I've noticed that both my headphone jacks no longer work...Only the one closest to the front of the laptop works, the middle jack doesn't work. Any ideas if this has to do with Vista? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Install the proper audio drivers from the Dell Support website.

yes uninstalling the driver in the device manager and reinstalling the drivers from dell will fix this. I too had this problem and fixed it by doing what I just posted. Best of luck to you.

Third confirmation. The Windows Default sound driver that gets installed (even through Win Update) doesnt activate both jacks.

Ditto, the default driver doesn't enable the middle jack. Get the dell audio driver and problem solved...
