I'm kind of lost regarding my 320GB hard drive. It says 217 out of 295GB available for the C drive (77GB used space). But when I go in the C drive and highlight everything and then right click>properties it says 28GB.

I don't have any other drives or partitions so why is there such a big difference? That's almost 50GB that I don't have yet it's taking space on my hard drive...

    Any ideas?

Try disabling system restore, it will take up to 15% of your HDD (about 45GB) for recovery points. I always turn it off as I back up manually so I don't need windows to do it as well.

Try Clearing for Temp files using CCleaner or Using Built-in Disk Cleaner

Right clicking and going to properties doesn't count hidden files unless you have set to make them visible in the folder options panel. Hidden files take up a lot of space on your computer. The whole temporary files folder is hidden, as are half of your other system files.

Highlighting the folders and clicking properties is not a very accurate way to gauge disk usage.
