Today HP released its brand new HP HDX desktop replacement laptop. It includes Intel's new Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor X7800 (2.6GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB).

This has me thinking. I always thought Dell was waiting to refresh its XPS M1710 until Intel's new "extreme" chips come out and for nVidia's new 8800m grpahics cards to come out. Unfortunately, HP's HDX uses ATI's DX10 cards, so no new information there for us nVidia people.

Anyways...when do you suspect Dell to announce a brand new XPS to replace its "getting older by the minute" M1710. (We need Santa Rosa and new graphics cards from nVidia!) : )

    Please discuss.

Their waiting for the nvidia 8800 for notebooks due after the summer. They could also be waiting for the other centrino extreme cpu to come out. One has already been released which is in the HDX the other which I think run at 2.8 Ghz is due in Q3 or Q4. I ordered M1330 because I travel but I wonder if they will release a 15" version.
