    hi all!
    really need some help.
My girlfriends XPS1330 dropped from her lap.
After that it booted up normally.
But after going into sleep mode and then starting it again it didn't boot Windows. It said that Windows boot manager could not connect and the fault might be with the HDD, DVD-Rom or that some external devices that are connected aren't working properly.
And there was some status wich was: file/boot 0xc00000e9

She didn't have anything connected via USB, so does that mean the the Harddrive is wasted? Or could it be that the HD has just disconnected from the shock of the small fall?

Thanks for all the help in advance!

Have you checked if you can start it by using Last Known Good Configuration.

Start your computer > get into Windows Advanced Options while you see the Dell Logo (I think you have to press F8) > select Last Known Good Configuration > press enter.

    see if it works..

Also you could try starting in safe mode...

Start > F8 at the Dell logo > Select Safe mode > enter

see if you can start up...

Other options are trying to boot from OS DVD > Make sure the OS DVD is in the dvd drive, start computer, F12 at the dell logo, select boot from CD/DVD and select language > and select repair computer.... it will repair and restart.. see if this works.

Finally, I don't know if this will help, but you could also try doing factory restore > instructions in the Dell M1330 service manual page @ dell website.

    Thanks for the tips.
I couldn't even pick from the menu where the Safe mode and las known working settings are. I tried the HDD in my own laptop and it's done. Same message... Gonna go to Dell's service tomorrow, hopefully they can get something out of it, lot's of important school things there...
