Can't sleep so I decided to try out my 3 week old M1530 HDMI connection to my 47" VIZIO 1080p LCD and I get nothing, na-da.

I have tried all sorts of different setting in the Nvidia control panel and Fn+F8 numerous times but nothing. I know that I have to go into the sound's play back devices and change that to HDMI but without any image displayed I haven't changed that setting yet.

My OS is the Vista Home Premium that came on the laptop and it came with SP1 installed already. This is my first go with Vista and so far so good. Not ready to change my desktop over just yet.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated. I have tried searching through the "Discussion threads" and Googled the web but still haven't found any answer. Kinda disappointing after watching a video on "YouTube" where the guy plugs into his new 1530 HDMI port and it appears to work without a hitch.

Set the tv to AV/hdmi channel?

    What drivers?

Is it pushed in all the way? Also is your TV on the correct HDMI input source?

Thanks for the reply DFI Fan,
Not sure what happened but this morning I got up and decided to try and figure out what was wrong with my HDMI connection and it just started working perfectly. That made my Saturday morning start allot better since it is going to be over 100 degrees F outdoors today so I don't plan on doing a heck of allot outside, guess I'll just have to play with my laptop. Right, like the boss is going to let me get by with that, she will find some indoor project for me I'm sure. :D

In the start menu search bar, type sound and open the sound programme then switch the default output to the HD output / HDMI/whatever is not "speakers". A reboot might be necessary

is it the little sound icon at the bottom right of the screen, it only lets me change sound volumes and things, not output/input

edit: i got the sound settings, in control panel, hardware and sound, sound.

i went to playback,, once i plug the laptop into my tv, what do i do?
switch to whatever hdmi thing that comes up?

Click on the Sound Icon you see at the bottom right...click "Mixer"...go up to "Device" and change from "Speakers/Headphones" to "HDMI"...you should see a checkmark next to HDMI in that drop down menu when your done.

It should already by there, even unplugged.

I don't know if the 1530 has a Realtek chipset but it should still work the same way
