I am pretty sure that the HDMI port on my studio 16 xps is output only, bummer, but is there a way to hook up my PS3 on the laptop screen? provided its not prohibitively expensive maybe there is an aftermarket piece that i need?

most other threads i found just talked about how there is indeed on input... so if anybody knows a way or knows of a thread thats knows of a way i would appreciate it... even a theory or idea would do better than what i have right now (nothing lol).

Logitech used to make a piece of hardware called a Gamebridge that does what you want. I don't think it's still around. You can try using an HD TV tuner that accepts component. But then you get stuck with lag.

But all of this is stupid and futile, especially when monitors and televisions are so cheap these days.
