    hello, everyone.

my name is mau and i am a relatively happy owner of an XPS M1530. i came across the fact that you can only monitor audio if you install the sigmatel audio drivers with XP SP2 compatibility, but now that i wanted to plug my XPS via HDMI to my flatscreen, lo and behold... no HDMI audio as it used to be.

is it possible to have both scenarios or does one cancel the other?

    has anyone done this?

the last option would be to go back and forth between vista (streaming hdmi) and xp drivers (sound recording and monitoring) as needed, but i would like to know if there is another way.

    thanx a lot in advance.

    :)

Best option would probably to have two separate installs and dual boot Vista and XP, keep XP for your audio activities and continue using Vista as your everyday system.

    hmmm... could be.

only problem is my HD is 100GB and i have two user accounts already, so it's getting crowded.

    thanx for your reply.
