I want to ask about the difference between nvidia geforce 8600 and nvidia m8600 go series since the second one is the one with Dell XPS m1530.

The 8600m is the laptop version of nVidia's 8600 graphics card. If both these cards are in laptops, I'm assuming they're the same card, just improperly named.

There is a difference. The 8600M GT is a bit slower then a desktop 8600GT graphics card. From what I have read it's somewhere inbetween the performance of a 7600GT and 8600GT. The interface they use is also different. The 8600M GT is also designed to use less power and run cooler. It's also more expensive.

Based on personal experience I'd say the 8600M GT in my M1530 is twice as fast as my desktop Geforce 6800 card, but more than twice as slow as my desktop Geforce 8800GT 512MB.
