BB has 14 day return policy on notebooks. if inside that time frame, take it back and select another notebook. Good Luck. Check out the Gateway 7811fx. Mine (upon which I am typing) has been flawless and was a steal at $1250.

Well I just found my LCD info at dell.com through my service tag:
    LCD,15.4WXGA,TLF,SMSNG,V2

So it appears I have one of the *** SAMSUNGS....

What is the point of having a bluray player and a screen like this.

Uhhh I don't think it's the LCD if a printscreen causes it to show up. Printscreen captures what the video device is sending to the screen, not what a faulty screen is displaying. Think about that for a little bit. Also, why is it 1024x640? Turn up the resolution to native, see if that helps.

Yeah, there is NO WAY that a print screen would show up the grainy screen issue...

So, if that's what you are saying then it isn't a problem with the physical screen itself...it could be the resolution, or maybe try updating the display drivers.

like hep said, check to see if yur display is runnin at yur screen's native resolution.

why the hell did they put a blu-ray player on that system...? it makes no **** sense. the screen isn't even 1080p, but the drive is still a $400 option on dell...

has anyone noticed that dell took off the WUXGA option for the m1530 too? sounds like some changes are bein made.

i've never bought a dell anywhere, but online, from them. so i'm not really sure how the xps customer service would work for u. usually u have a 21-day return period where u can return or report any flaws with yur build. dell can also send u a new unit or send someone to come to yur house and repair whatever is reported.

I have a grainy screen which is a known problem for XPS units, its not only a print screen thing.

I have a crappy samsung screen.

Yes, I know it's a known issue. But that doesn't mean you have it. Wouldn't you feel stupid if it was another issue, like a setting, and you went through all sorts of trouble to get the screen replaced and have it turn out to not be the issue?

Not only as a print screen.
