So I had originally ordered a Sager but just about a day or two after I ordered, Dell released the M1710. The sager was going to cost $3600 (I had 2MB of RAM, X4800 CPU, and 7800GTX) with a one-year warranty. I returned the Sager (btw Powernotebooks is great to deal with, they were very cool about it) and I called up Dell.

I haggled with them, and ended up paying $3000 for a T2400 (1.83GHz), the 512 MB 7900 GTX and 1 MB of RAM) but this comes with a 4 year at home service warranty including accidental.

So I didn't have much time to test it last night, but played a bit of Oblviion and it was amazing.

Anyway, thanks to all those who chipped in with advice.

The nice thing about getting the duo is that it should be able to be upgraded once Merom comes out. That is one of the biggest pluses. But I am going to have to buy a whole new laptop....oh well. :p

Monster setup man. You will have bench it for us. :p

I got mine last week. I went for the T2500, 2mb ram, 80gb 7200rpm, 512mb 7800gtx, tv tuner, ms office basic, but only 1 year warranty incl accidental. It was $3900 CDN incl taxes. The DVD drive didn't work right so they shipped me a new one which I got on tues. I like dealing with dell. The machine is real nice.

Congrats on your purchases! Hope you like your new powerhouses! ;) Just a slight correction. You got 1 and 2GB's of RAM not MB's. :p

Congratulations for getting your new notebook.
I've got to say that you've gotten a monster machine. :D
I wish to have the money to buy one of those but, oh well, I better wait for one equivalent to the E1505
when Merom comes out in August.
