Received my XPS 1530 today, only 8 days from order to delivery.
Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
After spending several hours with it, can say it is one hell of a notebook, so far that is. The only thing that is a little frustrating, is the finger print reader. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The appearance of this machine is outstanding, everything fits the way it should and is rather quiet, expect for the optical drive, which is a little loud.
Will add more, as I tweak it a little bit.
Hang in there, for those who are still waiting. The wait is worth it.

Ya, if you order one without any delayed parts you will get it in 8 days or so. I ordered mine with no delayed parts and got it in 13 days after ordering.

It is a great laptop, I love mine. I'm sitting downstairs in the cool basement on my M1530 right now...it's really a wonderful thing.

And yes, the fingerprint reader can sometimes be frustrating. I was talking to someone wiht a Toshiba laptop today and he said that his was the same way. You gotta swipe your finger across it in the same way you registered your finger with the software otherwise it will fail. Go slow and center your finger and push down. It took me a few days, but I got use to it.

Congrats! You got a killer computer! And I agree about the optical drive being loud - mine is the same, but it really doesn't bother me much. As far as the fingerprint scanner is concerned, its something you grow used to. After a while it will be like second nature and very rarely will it not work. At first I had some trouble getting used to it (it sucked when I would want to show it off and then it would be like "too short") but like I said, after a while, it works almost every time. Have fun!

They give binder for free, or did you ordered on in accessory section?

PS: Mine should arrive on July 21, in theory. I just hope I find an easy walkthrough for reformatting business and that the screen is LG brand... jeeze, we shouldn't be worrying when we paid over a grand for this... grrr...

When I got mine they shipped with it a leather binder which holds your CDs/DVds, manual, screenwipe, and ear buds. It is very nice and has the XPS logo on the front of it and has a magnetic clip and strap to clasp it closed. It's very nice. But I didn't order it separately - it came with it for free. but I guess from what they're saying maybe they're not shipping these extras anymore.
