So after 4 years with my i8600, it's time to upgrade. Here are my two choices I narrowed down to XPS M1530 and XPS 630

I had i8600 all throughout college, and I will be graduating in 2 months. The thing is that I RARELY take my laptop with me to places. It's pretty much a desktop the whole time. So, I just answered my own question, but I want you guys to confirm if any of the two are good deals or not. Thank you much!

A desktop vs. a laptop? It's not even a contest, man. I think the Desktop is a better deal, frankly. 8800GTX in SLI? Mmmmmm!

You will like that 1530, nice specs. You can get/build a similar desktop for less if you wanted; my vote go with the laptop

Thanks for the quick inputs!
Well the way I see it is that I can just get a cheap laptop to carry around with and drools on the almost limitless customization desktop. Again, I just want to confirm that I'm not getting ripped off -
go to newegg.com or whatever site, you can build a desktop w that specification for less, and use the money u save for a ultra portable notebook like Lenovo Thinkpad x300 or Asus Eee PC.
Oh, i forgot to say that don't go for SSD, it's completey a waste of money now. In the future, like 5-10 years, hope the prices will go down significantly -
Ya what the guy on top of me just said! If you're going to grab a desktop with those specs you could save some dough by using newegg or your local shop.

Dell outlet has XPS 720 Desktop w/ 8800GTX for about 1300-1400 bucks. Only tower though.
EDIT-It does seem like a good deal if 8800GTX SLI. I thought 630 only came w/ GT SLI though. I guess I was wrong!
I would check on SLI though. You can't even configure 8800GTX SLI from Dell website as of now, and I think you would need more power than 750W PSU to support 8800GTX SLI.
Good deal? XPS M1530 and XPS 630
