    Hi,

I bought a XPS 17 (L701x) which came with a Geforce GT 435M and have just started looking at overcloking the graphics cards.

GPU-Z and Nvidia Tools reports the default clock as 590Mhz yet everywhere I look states the 435M has a default clock of 650Mhz.

Am I missing something? I'm trying not to feel robbed as it does what I want it to, but I was hoping someone could explain the difference.

Anyone out there with the same card have a similae "issue"?

    Thanks

I had the L701X with the GT 435M card for a short while before I returned the laptop. I too noticed that the graphics card had been underclocked.

Maybe Dell where worried about a potential heat issue?

I imagine that's what it is, but IMHO they shouldn't be selling an underclocked graphics card without informing the customer.

I'm hoping to get a response from Dell today, but I'm so far playing pass the awkward customer around.

One guy has just told me that 590Mhz is a perfect speed for the card and it's running as it should!

Dell Support should be a comedy.
