Just wondering which games you are currently running on your M1730...

At the moment I have 2 games installed - COD4 and UT3. To be honest Im probably going to sell both. I dont game online very often, so UT3 is getting boring since its really made for multiplayer rather then single player campaign. COD4 is an awesome game, campaign is excellent, but after about 30mins play it starts giving me a headache!!!

I did have Gears of War installed, since thats my current fav game, but it was a little jerky at times, so I sold it.

Anyways, Im expecting my 8800GTX at the end of this month so Ive been downloading some demo's of games Im interested in. Im definately gonna buy Gears of War again since that should run nice on the 8800 SLI, but Ive downloaded the following Demos, and if I like em I'll buy the full games...

    Crysis
    Bioshock
    NFS Most Wanted
    NFS Pro Street
    DIRT
    Company of Heroes

So, Im just wondering which games you're currently playing, and what you're planning on buying, for your M1730.....

Jesus man.. Keep Gears of war!!!! i played all the new ones and the most one i liked is it! it works perfectly on dual 7950GTX with no stutter.. so i think its gonna be more than perfect on SLI 8800GTX :p, also dont bother with Crysis it doesnt have a plot or story line, i'd say get Bioshock but dont update it, it was something different than other games for me :D, also if you want to get a NFS, dont get prostreet, its very lame with no free raoming,mm maybe get yourself a long term RPG since you dont seem like a guy who buys a bunch of games

Yeh I'll defo be getting Gears again.

You've made me think twice about Crysis now though, I'll check out the demo and see how I feel.

Im waiting for Assassins Creed as well, hopefully that will run nice also. Ive played through Gears and Assassins Creed on my XBox 360, but Ive sold the 360 now, so I wanna get en on my lappy instead!

Btw, have you heard that assassin's Creed version for PC is going to be Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut Edition. 4 new missions!!! PC platform still rules! :) Yeah, i`m waiting for this game for a year and a half now, and i hate consoles, so can't wait till 15th of feb, when it comes out. Also would suggest you get Devil May Cry 4, which is already out....the best slasher ever :) Well, and the rest of my list for new M1730 is priety much same as everyone else's. Crysis, NFS Prostreet(i`m just fan of NFS :)), COD4, UT3 and Gears of War. Also would recommend Lost Planet. Was trying to run its demo on my friends lap top with Radeon HD2600, which was like a slideshow :) But game seemed to be very nice....very good graphics as well...

Hey ifti, gears runs jerky with the dual 8700gts?

I play that game too with UT3. COD4 will probably be the game i get next. I loved the demo, but my old laptop (not the one in my sig) couldn't really handle it

I dont know why Gears was a little jerky TBH. COD4 runs perfect, all settings high, as does UT3. Gears ran at around 40FPS, but every few seconds it would jerk, as though it was loading somet, I dunno why. However, I dont use LV2G drivers, since I have the BD Drive and many drivers from there are not WHQL Certified - so maybe the more recent drivers from there would have helped it.

Im hoping the dual 8800's will really make it shine ;)

A little update on when games come out...
Went to the shop to buy Devil May Cry 4 and found out that it's not out for PC till 4th of April :( Assassin's Creed is not out till 28th of March. Checked that in a few shops and they all told me the same dates :( Well...I got quite a few games, which will last me till Assassin's Creed comes out

Apparently Assassins Creed is just as, or manybe a little, more demanding then Crysis!!
Its recommended spec should still be do-able on top spec M1730's, and its recommended you have 3GB of RAM!!! lol

    ^^^
lol, thats true actually! Gears is the only shooter I really find awesome. I mean COD4 is also very good, but it gives me headaches! Gears is just...wow! Cant wait to get on and play the extra levels etc!

I do like a couple of racing games as well, like NFS,...................

I've still got a wireless controller from when I had my 360, so I may just get the MS receiver for the controller and use that for games....

Do you guys use any extra cooling while gaming? Also, do you just use the mouse? If so is it a gaming mouse or a standard one?

Stopped playing my 360 a while ago. There was a sudden spurt of cool games, then after Xmas its all gone dry. Not many major releases coming out - well none I was really interested in. Hence I got rid of it since I was offered a good price for it.
I miss a few games though - like Gears and Assassins Creed etc, so they are the ones I wanna get on my lappy...

Mine gaming rig i have at the moment (if you can call it gaming) doesn't run any new releases at all. As i hate X-Box controller, i use Logitech Rumblepad 2. And i use Logitech G5 laser mouse, which i`m really happy about. I would recommend you to get gaming mouse, cause its more comfortable, more sensetive. And mine lasts 2 years already, whether mouses i had before broke in about a year...

I`m also getting PS3 soon. Mostly as a blue-ray player. But wouldn't be bothered to get it, unless there were such exclusivesm as Heavenly sword and new grand turismo on it. Also wanna buy 60gig version, so it'll have compability with PS2 games and finally get my hands on God of War 1 and 2 :D

    Battlefield 2
    Call of Duty 4
    Fear (plus Fear: Extraction point)
    Crysis
    Oblivon
    Gears of War
Age of Emprires III (plus WarChiefs and Asian Dynasties)
    Prince of Perisa Warrior Within

I just put small, hard CD booklet case thing at the back of my laptop to elevate it and let air go underneath it (specially the left corner underneath - it get's pretty warm after an hour or so of gaming).
    And use a standard mouse.

Lost Planet definitely, I already own it but want to play it through again at 1920x1200 all maxed when my new M1730 arrives :)

Actually Lost Planet reminds me of Gears of War, though Lost Planet looks better, almost same style of play as in Gears of War. Crysis is overrated, stopped playing it, though mainly use it for benchmarking and just for fun to optimize it. Managed to run it on my dual 8700m GT SLI at 1680x1050 with a custom config I made :)

Though I have already had a desktop 8800GTX for a year now so I know how these dual 8800m GTX´s will perform on todays games :) I have 14000 in 3D Mark 06 with my overclocked 8800GTX. I will try to beat that with my dual 8800m GTX :)

How much do you think I would get for it??
