    Hi,
Are you using it in full hi res all the time? I was thinking of getting this just because the other option 1440x900 is not good enough for me. I am used to having more things on my screen. I usually have 1280x1024.

So, what happens if I change 1920x1200 to something lower, will the image quality get affected? And could you please let me know what are the other res options below 1920x1200?

    Thanks

I got one in my XPS M1530. It is a great screen, but you will want to keep the resolution at 1920x1200 as that is the native resolution of the screen. You can put it to 1680x1050 or whatever you want but the quality is not as good, it becomes less clear. This is the case with ALL LCDs.

    How is it for reading?
Are you a multi tasker too or a gamer?

Why didn't you go for the 1440x900 LED?

    Thanks

WUXGA(1920x1200) is perfect for watching movies and working with lots of windows. Also, if by any chance you have dead pixels , they are extremely hard to notice on such a huge resolution.

Downside: you can`t game natively unless you have at least 8800M GTX SLI,it will have higher temps, but scaling works down to 1280x800 so no worries there.
And you can always increase the DPI if the text is too small for you.

hey skuba, i have the 1920 by 1200 screen and its no problem if you have normal eyesight, if you dont ( like me) the worse that could happen is that you would have to select a bigger windows dpi, (DPI is the overall seize of the windows interface, the ammount of pixels it uses) and that you zoom on firefox, but other than that its a great quality screen.

now are you willing to pay the extra money for it?

if you want a cheaper solution, ive heard wonders of the LED screen, you could go with that, and there is no need to zoom anything at that resolution.

I actually have 1920x1200 on my current inspiron and I never realized. So, I am using it now to try it out. I had to increase DPI to 120 so fonts would get a little bigger.

I know that IE and FF allow to easily increase site. But I have to keep doing it every window I open.

Plus, I work with dreamweaver and Photoshop a lot.

Can I increase fonts even further without messing them up?

    Thanks

i have and love my WUXGA screen. the WUXGA screen will scale down better than other screens with lower native resolutions. i have no problems with clarity when scalin down in games. just change yur DPI to yur desired preference and remember...control + wheel scroll up = yur friend :p

Hi, I am not a gamer. I work a lot with web design and photoshop.

What DPI setting are you using to make fonts readable without stressing your eye sight?

I only have XP for now, so I can only pick 125% of the size or 150% of the size, etc.. 125 doesn't look big enough, but 150 looks too big

    Thanks

I have very good eye sight, and I can read on a 1920x1200, but I wonder if it would hurt my eyes. Like, giving me headaches, etc...

So you guys use it on 1920x1200 and browse the web, use applications such as word, etc.. with no problems?

    Thanks

sure scuba, word is no problem, and dont worry, im the kind of guy who has very poor eyesight and gets headaches A LOT
and i have not had any problem with the screen, i just increased font from 96 to 120 and its perfect, no problem at all with reading, only that when surfing the web you might wanna zoom in :D
and you can customize the DPI and use any seize.

    cheers!

Design programs like Photoshop is exactly what the 1920x1200 was made for.
