    Hey guys,

As a new member here, I'd like to first offer a nice treasure I've found. If you want a new M1530 for under $1250, you have to order a M1530 before Aug. 21 which costs over $1599. The coupon removes 30%, allowing you to get good specs for a good price. This isn't spam, just like to share what I recently did to get a decent computer. I will, however be spamming the forum on how to make my new toy awesomer (performance-wise). Here's what I did:

    Go to http://configure.us.dell.com/dellst...=en&s=dhs&cs=19&kc=productdetails~xpsnb_m1530

    Choose:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB, 6MB Cache) +$250
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LED LCD (1440x900) & 2.0 MP Webcam +$125
    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms) +$100
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT +$100

Your price is now $1624 - click BUY NOW > ADD TO CART > Use the code JD2BSBJQDWF?4L > Voila!

My total price came out $1232 for these specs:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB, 6MB Cache) Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1
    High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LED LCD (1440x900) & 2.0 M
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
    160GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
    Slot Load DVD+/-RW (DVD/CD read/write)
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card
56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    High Definition Audio 2.0
    Finger Print Reader XPS M1530

Rate the specs to price ratio from 0-10, if you want. Have fun!

*EDIT: Apparantly it is the same as listed on this website, but NBR didn't say it worked for M1530. Sorry, thought I discovered something (in a way but not really) :(.

Not a bad deal :) 8.5/10. The 25% and 30% coupons are better (if they are still available)

Congrat's on your order of the 1530..and enrollment to the 1530 Posse family! LOL ;) :) Looks like you found a nice one...8.5/10 ;) :)

And, no worries if it was already on the site...It was nice of you to share it with us, and for those that don't check that area of the forum frequently!

ESD as in estimated ship date? They said around Sept. 1 :( because of the LED LCD option, which adds 7 days to the turn around time. I'm kind of feeling a little nervous, seems like 90% of people who buy the laptop are dissatisfied with it. I'm not sure what to do.

Yes, ESD is the Estimated Shipping Date...9/1 hmmm..Well Dell always *over projects* on the shipping date! ;) :) So, essentially there is somewhat of a chance that you could receive it, before that date ~ keep that in mind! ;)

And, try not to be nervous...I, and many others I know on the forum who have received the 1530 are extremely happy with theirs. Try to stay positive (I know, I know) ;) ....Because between now and until you actually receive your notebook..You just don't know...It could be sent to you in pristeen condition! (as well as it should)...and if by chance there is something wrong..You call Dell and they take care of it ;) )

    Hope that helps...(maybe a little)??? ;) :)

    Cin ;) :)

The forum doesn't constitute 90% of the XPS m1530 owners ;) Most just post here to inquire about hardware problems and the like, so you often get a one sided opinion. There are fewer people who would register just to harp about their purchase.

...Although I did join and partake in the community before I received a pretty badly defected XPS m1530. Seems Dell forgot what quality control meant when it came to my laptop! :(

Awesome! I helped someone out =)!

@psygn: One of the Dell sales people I was speaking to on chat swears that the LCD problems it had is "super old news". I'm not sure what's up with the huge production times but I hope Dell crafts a masterpiece with mine!

When did you order your M1530? And it's not that most people are unhappy with the actual laptop, but unhappy that they have to wait so long to get it. I just started the journey of ordering and waiting for it to be boxed and shipped to me. It's in production, and estimated ship date is september 11.

That is definitely not a bad deal but I think my deal on my new one was a better with a 3 year warranty and accidental damage/theft protection. I am still waiting for mine though but I have other laptops/desktops so it is not a big deal for me.

Me too.... I always wonder if I haven't bought enough Dell products to get only 20% (which is the default discount without a coupon). The M1530 is the 5th (or is it 6th) Dell laptop, and all my monitors are Dells, not to mention all the misc stuff I bought from them throughout the years.
