First, I am Maarten Klok, a Dutchman who likes to share dell-knowledge with you Americans! I've read a lot on this forum, and I think some of you knows a solution to my stupid little problem:
My M1530 has a 7-pin S-video output which should work with my little composite adapter (it does with other laptops). The GeForce 8600M GT video driver only enables the S-video when he detects there is a device attached to it. Is it possible to force-enable the S-video-output so my composite output will work?

put a thin strip of conductor wire into the first and third holes on the first row of the SVideo socket on your laptop so that they remain connected.

just to get it straight its a 8600m GT

Isn't there a more proper way?
@fluffboy, tnx, got to change that -
Isn't there a software based way?
Force enable s-video in M1530 (GeForce 6800M GT)
