I currently have pretty much a whole year left on my warranty. However, I have seen on dells site that you can extend it. Does anyone know a) how much this costs (roughly) and b) when someone has to extend it by? It is simply before your current one runs out?

    Hey there!

Here is some information about extending the warranty, from Dell's site:

    http://support.dell.com/support/top...e_sign_in?~ck=ln&c=us&cs=04&l=en&lnki=0&s=bsd

The cost depends on build, how old your lappy is & model etc.

Dell will also contact you before your warranty is about to *expire* and try and sell you and extended warranty. You will prob's hear from Dell w/in 6 months of your current warranties expiration. ;)

    Cin ;) :)

a good warranty price should not exceed 25% of the original cost of laptop if you are extending 3 or more years.... any cost more than that, u'd be better off putting that money in a CD(though interest rates are crapp ynow), and buy a much better laptop when ur current laptop breaks(sell laptop on fleabay and get like $100), unless you really love this laptop/custom model
