Ok About a month ago I installed Windows 7 installed Everest and after I did the mouse would freeze intermittently, etc. Well Everest was updated a lot and after I did a fresh install yesterday I installed the newest version of Everest.. Still the mouse freezing is STILL present, both with the touch pad and mouse.

Is anyone else having this issue with their SXPS 16? I've tried 2 different versions one older one new of Everest and 2 separate installs of Windows 7.

    Are you using Everest Ultimate?

Because, I uninstalled Everest Ultimate last week. After 2 freaky things happened after install on my 1640.

I attempted to run the Sensors on Everest U, and when it was opening...my keyboard locked up/mouse..and the lappy started making this "screeching" noise. I had to manually power down.

Upon reboot, I made a 2nd attempt at Everest, with the same results. After that, I decided not to attempt any more problems with Everest on my new lappy and uninstalled with the help of RevoU.

I had always used Everest U on my 1530 without any problems...

After the recommendation from someone I trust, I am now using GPU-Z, and HWMonitor to Monitor temps, etc. :)

OMG Thank God it was not just me! Mine didn't make the noise, but man it locked up bad. I've used Everest (and still do) on my desktop for years as I overclock. Even though I don't OC the laptop for obvious reasons.. I still feel "naked" with out seeing the Everest sidebar/gadget.

I'm going to check out HWMonitor.

Nope, not just you! ;) Mine did both. I didn't like have to "force" a power down. :( That, is never fun. It's too bad it's happened, because, Everest is an excellent program!

Try the apps' below that Batboy suggested :) HW Monitor & GPU-Z are pretty nice!

Thank youze, for linking them!~.... ;) :D
