Only tried using two headphones for the first time the other day and only one works at a time, I plug one out the other one works fine and vice-versa. Is this a common problem? I installed Windows 7 RC recently but never tried it before I installed it so not sure . Any one else experience anything similar or any ideas?

update the audio drivers...
think support.dell.com has specific drivers that have both earplugs enabled, but i believe you lose stereo mix... nothing to worry about if you don't use your laptop to record sounds it outputs -
By the way, why are there two devices with Headphones in the name? (I also have an HDMI Audio, which I understand) I was going to start a new thread on this.
The Jack Information for Speakers/Headphones says "RL RR Left Panel 3.5mm Jack"
For Independent (R.T.C.) Headphones it says "L R Left Panel 3.5mm Jack"
What does all this mean and when should I use which?
Thanks. -

I'm also having this problem with Win7 RC. On Dell's support site, the driver is dated from October '08, so I'm a little afraid to install it and make things worse.

The driver still isn't updated ... has anyone been brave enough to install the vista 64 bit driver from October into Windows 7?

I've done that on my M1330. Using the drivers Windows 7 RC downloaded automatically, plugging into the middle jack made me lose audio on the left jack. Downloading the drivers from dell fixed this.
Dual headphone Jack (one works)
