So I just recently reformatted installing my SSD, went to the website and installed all the drivers... I didn't know what so I installed most of them. and I have a few problems whitch i've searched all over and cannot solve.
First is my sound, I've installed the ALC665 audio codec with the Realtek HD Audio Manager, there's no sound on the speakers but it works with headphones.
Second I'm missing the backlit on my keyboard.
Third the Fn key's somewhat work, the touchpad doesn't lock when it has the orange light. and I would normally see that large icon when i change sound and light and wireless n such.
Fourth would be the top right were the power button is. the setting key works, but the screen off and audio program doesnt pop up when i click it.
I think that's all my questions thanks!

I wont pretend I know each driver. However I had the exact same issue with my touch pad that you are having. I made sure that I downloaded and extracted all files, went to device manager and had each item listed search my computer and install the drivers. As a result everything now works as it should. Hope that helps.

In Device Manager, are you showing any devices with an ! or are they all displayed as being installed and functioning? I think what Robcope means is go into Device Manager, and each device that you're having problems with, to point it to the drivers location, c:\Dell\Drivers etc. Maybe try uninstalling each of the devices and then click the scan button and have it reinstall them all.

Sorry about the late response guys, my Windows 7 corrupted. Called Dell they sent me a OEM CD, and I called technical support, still at the same place, and I'm using the XPS17. umm I'm having a tech come over tomorrow and if he fixes i'll post a response in how he fixes it if he does, can help other people out if thats an issue, the person the phone couldn't figure out the problem ( he uesd the control thing from dell ) haha.

About the " ! " in device manager i do not have any, and we manually tried installing it, not sure what the reason is maybe i loosened something by accident when installing the SSD, i'll see tommorow
