Anyone know how hard it is to disconnect the webcam on an M1530? I never use it and would like to unplug it for personal reasons. Basically where does it plug into?

Just remove the keyboard, and you can see the cable ending in the centre. It's the wide flat one coming from the right hand side of the laptop.

Why not just disable it in the bios ?

That option does not exist in the A12 BIOS (as far as I remember it didn't exist in past BIOS versions either). I disabled it in device manager already, but I'm gonna just gonna "pull the plug" on it.

As far as I can remember from dismantling the laptop, the camera and mikes are all on a single circut board at the top of the screen, connected to the laptop via the one cable.

yeah, disconnecting the webcam will also disconnect the mics, are you sure you want to do this ? why not just put dark paper in front of it ?

Yep, disconneting the mic and webcam is exactly what I want to do. I would think the microphone port would still work on the laptop (not that I have ever used that either).
