    Digital out from headphone jack

    Hi,

    Any body tried whether the 3.5mm headphone jack on xps16 gives digital audio out, which can be fed to speakers with Digital Coaxial Audio IN.

    We can use the connector like this: Amazon.com: Cables to Go 3195 RCA Jack to 3.5mm Mono Plug Adapter: Electronics, to get the digital output.

    And then use a standard Coaxial cable to feed that to the Digital Coaxial Audio IN of the speakers.

    No it's not an optical out..utmost it can be a digital out and thus it's output can be fed to Digital Coaxial Audio input.
