It may work. However, it looks like it'll charge 33% slower than the Alienware 13's AC adapter.

Both the XPS 13 and Alienware 13 have 19.5v power supplies, but the XPS 13 is 2.1-2.3 amps while the Alienware 13 is like 6.7 amps.

To be honest, you'd be better off with a 3rd party external battery recharger, than the Dell Power Companion, for several reasons:

    (1) Dell Power Companion is not rated to work with the Alienware 13. So nobody really has experience on whether it will work. Thus far, people are only guessing. With an aftermarket charger, you can find one that has the rated power output for an Alienware 13
    (2) You can find one that has higher battery capacity than the Dell power companion.

I did some research and the only battery pack I saw that would suit your needs is the goalzero Sherpa 50 or Sherpa 100.

I read the technical specifications. The Alienware 13 AC charger charges at 19.5 volts at 6.67 amps. The Sherpa 100 can charge at 19 volts at 6 amps. The Sherpa 50 can do 19 volts at 5 amps...so, it'd charge just a little slower than the 100 or AC adapter. The Dell Power Companions (12000mAh/18000mAh) only charge at 19.5 volts at 2.31 amps and that's why I said it'd probably charge at a 33% slower speed.

    Hi.

Just to be sure, is the RAVPower 23000mAh actually delivering some power to the Alienware 13, so that the total battery life is significantly increased, or there's simply no current at all flowing to the laptop ?

P.S. : How do you properly quote someone else's post on this forum ?

It's hit-or-miss whether a non-certified charger will actually work at all with a laptop. Some combinations will work, some will charge at a slower rate, and some will not work at all. You cannot simply just look at voltage & current, and say "Well, my laptop takes 6A, and this charger delivers 3A ,so it must work half as well." There's a decent chance that your laptop will refuse to work at all with a charger that doesn't meet its specifications, depending on how the laptop manufacturer configured the charging behavior for that laptop.

It's also difficult to go on a forum, and ask "Will non-spec charger XYZ work with my laptop model ABC?" Because it's rare that you will find someone who owns your laptop model AND that non-spec charger. Again, your best bet is to just do a search for external charger packs that have been certified / rated to work with an Alienware 13... either rated by Alienware / Dell themselves, or by a 3rd party (Targus, Belkin, etc) that claims to be compatible with your Alienware 13. You're going to have much better success that way, than asking on these forums.

    Hi.

I already asked Alienware about it some months ago, and they had no idea at all. I hope xlawx is reading this thread soon, because he already used the RAVPower 23000mAh on the Alienware 13, though his reply isn't detailed enough.
