Hey everyone i was wiping my dell xps 1530 with a towel when the corner of the 'E' on the dell logo caught on the towel and ripped off part of the 'E'. i superglued the ripped off part back on to the laptop, is there a way i can get another emblem from dell?

That's pretty sad dude. That towel you were using must have been sandpaper-rough or something to bring about damage like that.

Sorry, just to clarify, which "E" out of the two Dell logos got damaged? Is it the one behind the LCD screen, (The Main Dell Emblem Seal)? Or the "Dell" sign on the bottom of the LCD facing you as you type, near the speakers? If I'm not getting this wrong, was it the top part of the "E" that got ripped off? So it's pretty much like a reversed "F" now?

However, if you are really intent on replacing the logos, I don't think Dell provides just the emblems. You can contact them though, they might.

I know a site though that offer replacement parts for the XPS M1530. Depending on what you need, you may want to check out the following (which include the emblems):
Keep in mind the specific part which would match your XPS' color, and also screen (CCFL or LED)...

Dell XPS M1530 15.4" LCD Front Trim Cover Bezel Plastic - WITH Camera Port *For CCFL Display
Dell XPS M1530 15.4" LCD Back Cover Lid w/Hinges *For CCFL Display - BLACK
Dell XPS M1530 15.4" LCD Back Cover Lid w/Hinges *For CCFL Display - BLUE
Dell XPS M1530 15.4" LCD Front Trim Cover Bezel Plastic - WITH Camera Port *For LED Display - Grade B
Dell XPS M1530 15.4" LCD Back Cover Lid w/Hinges *For CCFL Display- WHITE - Grade B.

    Hope it helps...

Oh alright. I guess you may need the back cover lid then. Surprising that you were using a microfiber. I use the Sony Vaio cleaning kit with a microfiber too, but now should be more cautious.

Anyways, if I'm not wrong, your signature says your XPS specs and it seems you have a 15.4" WXGA +LED 1440x900, so if you're gonna buy the replacement back cover lid, make sure to get the LED one.

I'm not sure if there is any program that shows you what type of LCD you have. I've heard people check theirs manually though. I don't recommend doing it, but if you still need to check; you can open the front bezel and see if there's an inverter. LED displays do not have this, but CCFL ones do.

You can also checkout differences with displays on this site.

Hopefully Dell can fix it for you because it seems like a cosmetic defect. I'm checking the "E" on my emblem now and it seems very sturdy and fit.

They will not sell you a logo. They will, instead, replace the entire bezel. I know, I had a similar issue with my m1330.

Newer XPS model? As in, a Studio XPS? I'm not quite sure they'd allow you to do that. Chances are they won't. I'm only aware of the warranty policy they have for limited hardware in which they can replace any defective parts with new or refurbished parts. It seems to have worked for petegnj with his XPS 1330, so it should be the same for your problem. Most of their online warranty policies can be found on their site. Just try to contact Dell about it and hopefully you get the entire bezel replaced.

I had my XPS 16 one day, and when gently sliding it into a protective sleeve that was not even tight the "L" in Dell came off. Those letters are just glued on and if the edge is even slightly lifted....anyway I stuck it back on and held it down lightly a few minutes. If it comes off again I'll apply my own glue. Amazing, one day old.

Within a week, my 1640's logo came off during a cleaning.

Before you hit me with a sandpaper comment, I'll have you know that it was a clean, smooth microfiber cloth.
